The features of Group Income Protection
Unum's Group Income Protection service includes:
- Minimal Administration as usually all but the highest earners can be covered without providing medical histories.
- Choice over when benefits start as employers choose the length of time before benefits start. The longer the period the lower the premium.
- Choice over amount of benefit paid as employers choose the proportion of their employees' salaries they wish to protect.
- Benefits paid don't penalise relapses because if an employee suffers the same illness within 12 months of returning to work, benefits begin again immediately.
- Benefits that don't discourage work because a returning employee who is only able to work part-time or in a lower paid job will receive benefits proportionate to their drop in salary.
- Help to get employees back to work via Unum's Vocational Rehabilitation and Assessment Centres. Our professional staff devise tailored programmes in a relaxed environment to help claimants return to work.
