UnumProvident – the UK’s leading disability insurer based just outside Dorking at historic Milton Court – has won a silver medal at Hampton Court Flower Show.
Lead gardener at Milton Court Brian Fairs, a Dorking resident, entered a matching hanging basket and window box in the low maintenance section. The exhibit – named “I’m Not Mowing That” – was made up of ornamental grasses.
Commented Brian: “The matching pair gained us our second Silver Medal – our last was in 2002. I put the hanging basket and window box displays together mostly from root cuttings and chose ornamental grasses due to the dry weather as they are easier to maintain.”
Brian and his colleague Mike Smith maintain 31 acres surrounding Milton Court made up of lakes, woodland and six acres of formal gardens.
