The UK's leading disability insurer, UnumProvident, has raised nearly £30,000 for leading children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent by participating in Le Jo'g, the charity relay between Land's End and John O'Groats.

UnumProvident, who also sponsored last year's event, was the only company to enter a full end-to-end team of 100 runners, covering the entire 1,000 mile route in 70 mile stages.
Overall, there were over 200 runners from a variety of companies including Blackwell's UK, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Comet as well as entrants from the Royal Navy, the Royal Airforce, the MOD and the Young Officer's Club.
The total money raised from the event is nearly £60,000, benefiting a number of charities including CLIC, the National Literacy Trust, St John's Ambulance and the Stroke Association.
UnumProvident's Chairman and Managing Director, Susan Ring, who took part in the final part of the relay, which finished at Land's End in Cornwall said:
We are proud to have achieved our goal of raising nearly £30,000 for CLIC Sargent. Le Jo'g provides a unique opportunity for companies to support their favourite charity in a way that is also a great building experience for staff. I'm already looking forward to next year's race!
Runner and leader of UnumProvident's sponsorship of Le Jo'g Jonathan Plumtree, Finance Director, said:
This is the third year we have sponsored Le Jo'g and each year it keeps getting better. In particular, we were delighted by the level of enthusiasm and spirit shown by all participating companies. For all the hard work and dedication, the rewards, both for the charities and the entrants, are definitely worth it.
Dan Powell, Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, said:
We are absolutely delighted that UnumProvident has supported CLIC Sargent and raised such a huge sum of money, which will go towards helping children with cancer and their families. On behalf of all my colleagues I would like to say a huge 'thank you' to all those who took part and everyone else at UnumProvident who supported them.
