UnumProvident opens new office in Basingstoke
21st July 2005
UnumProvident, the UK's leading disability insurer, has opened a prestigious new office in Basingstoke.

UnumProvident House, situated at Basing View, will accommodate more than 200 staff already employed by the company at its two existing Basingstoke offices, with extensive additional space for future expansion as the business continues to grow.
Local brokers, employees, customers and community partners were invited to the opening, attended by Chairman and Managing Director, Susan Ring, and the Worshipful Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Paula Baker, who unveiled a commemorative plaque and officially opened UnumProvident House.

The opening also saw local business woman and founder of Great Guns Marketing, Liz Jackson, give a motivational speech to attendees. Liz set up her business in her home town of Basingstoke in 1998 with the help of a £1,000 grant from the Prince's Youth Business Trust. Within one year, Liz lost her sight, but due to her sheer enthusiasm, skill and determination she went on to establish one of the UK's leading telemarketing companies.
Commenting on the new Basingstoke offices, UnumProvident Chairman and Managing Director, Susan Ring, said:
Basingstoke is an ideal location for us to expand our business, due to its great transport links to London, the availability of a skilled local workforce and excellent local amenities. We look forward to continuing to take an active part in the local community, including our ongoing voluntary work.
